Does the microneedling hurt?

No. We work hard to provide quality treatments to our patients with minimal discomfort and as little downtime as necessary. To achieve, we numb the treatment area prior to the procedure so that there is minimal pain with the microneedling.
How do I prepare for a microneedling treatment?

Before microneedling, it is important to minimize sun exposure for several days prior and to have as little as possible or no sun exposure at least 24 hours prior to treatment. Come in to your appointment with a clean face and we’ll do the rest!
What can I expect during my microneedling treatment?

After thoroughly evaluating your skin and explaining the treatment to you, your aesthetic provider will begin by using a topical anesthetic on the treatment area to avoid discomfort. Then, using the microneedling device, the provider will make a series of small pricks under the skin. These are typically not visible after treatment. The pricks put your body’s defenses into action, stimulating the production of collagen and other healing compounds, which, in turn, smooth the skin and add volume, producing a fresher, younger look. After this part of the treatment, a soothing serum (which also boosts healing) will be applied. You may experience some redness afterwards, but this will dissipate soon.
What’s the recovery time after treatment?

Your body starts recovering from the treatment immediately after it’s finished. Treated areas will appear red for a few days after the procedure but this will go away naturally and quickly. Social downtime for 12-48 hours. To avoid pigment changes or scarring after the procedure, it is best to follow the post-treatment instructions that we’ve developed in order to ensure you have the best response possible. Collagen will begin to remodel within 4 to 6 weeks
How many treatments will I need?

Four treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart are recommended for best results. Some patient may require more based on the severity of their condition. Your PearlMed aesthetic provider will discuss in detail during your consultation.
